McLibel is a documentary expose of the fast food industry and the legal systems that protect corporate giants from accountability. The case is mentioned in the brilliantly researched, funny and informative book by Eric Schlosser, 'Fast Food Nation' but the documentary naturally goes into far greater detail.

McDonald's had cowed some pretty big names through this approach (including the Guardian and the BBC) Dave and Helen however were made of stronger stuff. This movie was so informative.

Two activists campaigning against McDonald's by distributing pamphlets on the streets had their small grassroots group infiltrated by up to seven spies, paid by McDonald's. Guess whose?) The movie spans 15 years and the lives of the 2 activists who wouldn't apologize to McDonalds.
McDonald's preferred tactic at this time was to use UK libel laws to quash any criticism of its practices. With Julia Sawalha, Peter-Hugo Daly, Clive Merrison, Malcolm Sinclair. It's not really about a personal attack on McDonald's per say, it's more about the free speech and libel laws in Britain.
